ADITL 'A Day In The Life'

Imagine all you hold dear.
Family, friends, your hopes and dreams, your liberty.

Now imagine it all ripped away in an instant.

"Just a routine check?"

ADITL 'A Day In The Life' is a new one man play written, directed and performed by Akpore Uzoh. An exploration of injustice within the justice system through the lens

of a young black man wrongfully arrested and the tumultuous journey that ensues following his subsequent conviction.

"Start at the beginning..."

The inspiration for the piece came from the need to speak and be heard.

Originally penned as part of the Masters program in acting at Guildhall, ADITL was

first performed in December 2015 and had a running time of 20 minutes. Following graduation, ADITL was one of three pieces selected to tour the Netherlands

as part of the GG16 STET, The English Theatre tour in September 2016.

Next came the US tour alongside Akpore’s engagement with Kneehigh's 946. The tour included; Berkeley Rep School of Theatre in San Francisco in conjunction with Berkeley Rep Theatre (who gifted space to develop, expand, rehearse and mount the piece), The Hudson Backstage in LA and at La MaMa Theatre in NYC East Village, where it played to sold out crowds.

Then finally coming back to London's Theatre 503 & Camden People’s Theatre (Camden fringe) to full houses and an overwhelmingly positive reception.

The play has since gone on to win the Alfred Fagon Audience Award 2017.

The next step... Main stage and world tour!
